Honeymoon Preparations

Ow, Ow, Ow

That’ll be the internal soundtrack this evening after the first round of vaccinations for our honeymoon later this year. All told, it’s not too bad – a typhoid jab and a first combined hepatitis A+B shot – and some more in a month or so’s time. You’d think, given I inject myself regularly as part of my diabetes regime, that I wouldn’t be too perturbed by all this – but no, needles and injections and even the prospect of them give me anxiety attacks that really feel quite debilitating.

Of course, the extensive travel advice we were given by the nurse about what diseases have broken out in our chosen destination seemed almost designed to try and frighten us out of going.

This strange plague-pit? A luxury private island stay in the Maldives. Strange world, but I like it that way…
