A belated Merry Christmas to anyone I’ve not seen recently – and Happy New Year in case we don’t see each other before then. We’ve had that rare beast: a Christmas just to ourselves this year. After all the excitement of the last couple of months its been good to give our systems a chance to relax and to just be our geeky selves.
We had Lady J and her father round on Christmas Eve, braving a trip to the wilds of West London despite the best efforts of South West Trains, so we’ve not been totally wrapped up in our little bubble. I’ve also made a point of going for a walk and trying out the Ingress app on my phone in my local area. It’s certainly given me some ideas for nominating some local landmarks as Portals around my “regular” walking routes. For my lazier moments I have a new DAB radio, that is currently sitting quietly next to me while I write. I’ve only got round to setting up Radio One on the presets, so will have to spend some time seeing what else is out there to give me some more varied sound tracks to my days.
Back to work tomorrow, but the good news is that my daughter is coming to stay next week so I get to have a bit more of Christmas when she’s here.
