New High Score

Well that didn’t take long – we’ve managed in six months to exceed the total views of pages on this blog for last year, which had itself beaten all previous years for visitors and views. Looking at the breakdowns in visitor patterns I’m pleased to see that many of you have come for the game write-ups and then stayed to have a look round at my more general witterings about life and inconsequential trifles.

Onwards and upwards then. When I have hectic days like today where I’ve had the thought “I wonder if I can make it look like an accident” foremost in mind when dealing with people, it does reassure me that I can entertain, bemuse, or at least put the occasional smile on faces with my wordplay.

On days where I doubt I can succeed at writing, I can point to the blog as evidence of being able to regularly and consistently churn out a word count – even if it is mostly nonsense. It’s easier to do that with this blog than with the articles that I produce for people, because most of those are ghost writing assignments, with a few rare examples. As things develop, I hope that will continue to change.

So, reason to celebrate beyond the simple numbers, giving context to what can sometimes feel a thankless and Sisyphean task. Thank you all for dropping by, now let’s see if I can hold your attention long enough to double those numbers by year end.
