There has been a shift in how Amazon handles designs for their merch initiative, and it has been a joy to realise just how wide a reach this potentially gives me in terms of markets. It isn’t just the UK and the US, but countries in mainland Europe in the form of France and Germany, and Japan.
The new markets can be selected, but I need of course to translate my copy to the appropriate language for each market. French is fine, but my German and Japanese are non-existent. Fortunately Lady M made a quiet suggestion to use a site that she has been taking advantage of at work: www.deepl.com
It is, at its heart, a translation website and I have to say so far I’ve been quietly impressed at how easy it has been to use. Well worth adding to your toolbox, I’d say.
Today has mostly been spent on rotas and preparing for opening up more options for people visiting our libraries next week. The restructure continues apace, and people are naturally worried, so I’m trying as best as possible to continue at a steady pace.
In the meantime I’ve put up a few more designs on the Amazon UK store – most notably one based on the sketch of Odif I showcased the other day. There’s now colour and a bit of rendering, and almost universally I’ve had people saying very kind things and asking for links. So to that end:
The Odif T-Shirt
You’re welcome, and I look forward to how the DDC adapts to their new travelling companion. I suppose I should finish off a couple of maps I’ve got in development. I’m off on Friday, that looks a good goal.
Work was work, and so this evening I’ve worked on some old graphics to bring them up to scale to use on tshirts on Amazon UK. I’m considering putting a few up for other countries at some point, but as far as I know the majority of our DDC audience is UK-based and this is hardly a superstar blog.
Still, you might enjoy these:

Hope there’s something there for people to enjoy. If nothing else it’s a good way to relax for me.
The interview this morning was okay and yet still the hour sped past at an incredible speed. I wasn’t stumped by anything, but who knows how it went? I certainly won’t for a few days.
And I think I did some work today as well, but my stress headache seems to have blotted it out, so I’ll see what’s there in the morning when I go back.
On a lighter note, I’ve made some new tshirt designs and posted them. We now have designs for each character in the DDC, as well as some hoodies:
Caeluma’s Family: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08W91PDTT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Y3JRQEYC91GWYJDHKSW8
So, if you fancy treating yourself to support the channel or your favourite character, you now have even more options 🙂
Last night’s game went really well, with only minor fudging by yours truly to shift things along. We completed the adventure started for the charity stream with kobolds defeated and a hidden sub-basement discovered and cleared of menaces.
The whole thing is still available to watch on www.twitch.tv/princessleah1980 and will no doubt end up on YouTube at some point too.
I’ve just been absolutely exhausted all day, so just as well it’s been a day off. I may have spent a couple of hours this afternoon catnapping.
Oh, and there are some new designs up on Amazon UK:
We have “Phoenix Memories” available as a tshirt at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0929SMR7G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_7H0A2DSK83P6H84KKVYM
We also have a “Shimmering Rainbow” tshirt: at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0929WRWDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_AGMN809HDBH6XSGBH7SG
And last but not least we have the DDC zipped hoodie available as well: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0927CX3NR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_E8V2J93CXA2QK643FDNE
I recently got promoted up another tier for Amazon Merch, so shall be having fun making designs available as we go along
I noticed today that I’ve been bumped up a tier in Amazon Merch which increases the number of designs I can sell from 10 to 25. I’ve been focused on Raglan tshirt designs there for the clarity they give my line art pieces so most things will go up in that format, and then a few as more general tshirts.
To find my things, search for Ludd Clothing as a brand. The latest piece as of the time of writing is based off a sketchpad piece I’ve had bubbling away recently, and myr s asked specifically to see it appear on a shirt. What better way to celebrate!
Well, by adding more things to the RedBubble site (see the site menu above for that link at any time)
No matter how many times people admire my artwork I’m still caught in the imposter syndrome trap of not believing it – because my brain insists that it’s all a trick and I’m being set up for a fall. Yay for survivor-brain and being a burnt-out ex-gifted child. Okay, this is a roundabout way of telling you I had the amazing news that someone has actually bought one of my redbubble designs in the last twenty four hours, so somebody in Canada has the dubious honour of being the first person in the world to wear my artwork on their face.
Whoever you are: thank you very very much, you mad fool. I have raised a glass in your honour this evening.
I also this morning received an acceptance email to be able to sell through the Amazon Merch program. If nothing else it has forced me to work out how to do transparencies for png files, let alone work my way through the extremely unintuitive user interface this evening (which has led me to drink the rest of the bottle after first saluting my Redbubble customer).
So – that’s a nice thing that has happened today, and I shall use it to beat my imposter syndrome with a massive stick on an ongoing basis.
