Well, that was unpleasant

I’m not sure if I’m putting it down to food poisoning, a mild case of whatever my stomach is doing, or sheer exhaustion but the last 24 hours were unpleasant.

Between running to the loo frequently and fluctuating temperatures I’ve been wiped out to the point that merely waking up with clogged sinuses this morning has been a pleasant relief.

Oh, and first order of business this morning is helping boy s chase the estate agents as the hot water tap fell off his bath last night and I’ve had to cut off the water to prevent a flood.

Good start…

Minor Plague

Today hasn’t been wonderful – mostly due to one of those lovely hiccups that diabetes brings and that people don’t mention most. In this case it’s an upset stomach and nausea called diabetic gastroparesis – where the rate of the emptying of the stomach, and therefore digestion of food is affected. Not to put too fine a point on it, food starts to rot in the stomach and it’s deeply uncomfortable.

So I took advantage of having some time owed and went home early – and have been taking it easy while it sorts itself out.

Hopefully I’ll be back up and running properly in the morning. Yay.

Headcold Manflu

No, not the name of a villain soon to be gracing our screens, or even one of the tabletop sessions, but a slightly tongue in cheek reference to how grim I’m feeling. I went to work to sneeze and sniffle at people, and have just now been steaming my head to try and free my sinuses up a bit before bed.

With any luck I’ll be right as rain soon enough. I put up with enough trying to keep my head straight without complicating things with a sinus infection. My immune system is already compromised by the diabetes, so I’m taking a fairly gung ho attack on what is basically a jumped up cold before it gets a proper foothold.

So, if I’m grumpier than usual over the next 36 hours, blame this virus.
